Cutting Our Way Through the BS to the Facts That You Need
The act of gathering information and maintaining Situational Awareness is a constant battle of divining fact from fiction and hype from reality. This particular topic is so predisposed to conspiracy, government and "big corporate" cover-up theories, and emotional knee jerk reactivism it takes the challenge of reporting to an all new level. The topic? Nuclear Fallout related to Fukushima, Japan.
A report in by the BBC on February 25, 2014 has done a pretty good job at sticking to the facts. ( http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26329323 ) The article entitled " North American scientists track incoming Fukushima plume " explains that the plume of radioactive Cesium -137 and 134 in the Pacific Ocean is due to begin hitting the west coast of California "in the next few months". That means sometime between March and April 2014. This is big.

Although the governments of the USA and Canada are not raising alarms yet this has potential for serious health consequences in an area already being affected by radionuclides in the rain water (Seattle area last month). A reasonable modicum of caution, awareness, and preparation would be prudent at this time. Do not wait until everyone is fighting for the last item on the shelf to be prepared.
PracticeSurvival.com recommends that you raise your water purification knowledge base by reading the sections on water, water purification, Zeolites, and radiation basics so that you will have a basic working knowledge of the subject. Purchase an RO (reverse osmosis) unit for your home. Use only that for drinking water and cooking. In addition install a dual stage whole house filter with sediment reduction and activated carbon filters. Finally if possible, install a zeolite filter tuned to remove radionuclides. That is Zeolites' peak use. Buy some Zeolites from a reliable natural foods store and get some recipes for making cookies and muffins with Zeolites.
