I will begin by saying that unlike many articles that you will find regarding silver, silver ionic and colloidal solutions this article is not intended to tell you what to do; use or not use the remedies. Instead, the point of PracticeSurvival.com is to launch you on a quest for information which like the inverted pyramid on the main page of the Useful Information page indicates should be taken through a process to an end which is not knowledge, it is enlightenment.
The medical industries apply the collective skills of thousands of highly trained specialists to vette and test their products and discover new ones which will help people and enrich them. There is nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, they are not without massive failures or harm caused to people. It is the unfortunate byproduct of advancement. The beauty of an unregulated industry is their ability to make rapid and extreme changes unburdened by oversight. They can discover or uncover great new options to successfully treat problems; they can also harm or kill people. The additional risk is that while you are tinkering around playing doctor and research scientist you are losing valuable time of receiving medical treatment from skilled professionals.
Silver is all around you, it is a basic earth element. There are lots of uses for silver. Silver used heavily in drugs, antimicrobial, antibacterial, burn and wound treatments. It is also used in water filtration. Bacteria, viruses and other single cell organisms die on contact with silver.
Silver has been noted for its antimicrobial effect since 400 B.C., when Hippocrates promoted the use of silver for treating wounds. It should be noted that the use of leeches to reduce fever and headaches, as well as many other aliments as recently as 100 years ago. The medical community embraced it; it was later proven to be worthless.
A complex topic such as this is that advancement requires experimentation; experimentation carries with it the treat of failure. Additionally, health issues are often coupled with highly emotional time sensitive requirements. The emotional component opens the door for hacks, charlatans and frauds who always lurking in the shadows just waiting for the opportunity to take advantage of the desperate. The special challenge of health and mortality creates a conundrum nearly unrivaled elsewhere in life. An example is the use of leeches; within the past 15 years the use of leeches for the recovery of crushed fingers and other extremities has been highly successful at saving countless people from having amputations. Yet over one hundred years prior they had been used unwisely killing many and diverting patients from other treatments that may have saved them.
There many claims regarding both Pharmaceutical and Homeopathic remedies, cures and treatments. The most threatening thing about health related claims is that if you are wrong or misguided you may die. People crow about their own "versions" of silver compounds and solutions and their touted miracles. There is a very solid basis for many of the claims of its abilities. You must understand though what silver is, the human body's limits of tolerance and avoid "miracle" claims. Educate yourself, go moderately and you will be very pleased to have added a new tool to your health arsenal.
One of the recent applications of silver impregnated substances fighting the good fight against bacteria is Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass on the face of cell phones. But as usual just to make it confusing, "scientists" have come forward with contradictory commentary regarding it saying, " wiping out all of that bacteria might have unforeseen consequences on the microbiome—the entire universe of bacteria in, on, and around our bodies. “I’m skeptical that we’ve got some chemical or physical treatment that does something good when we don’t even know what the baseline is". Of course the screen is only part of the phone; it is the part that comes in direct contact with your face, ear and mouth the rest of the phone is not antimicrobial. It might not be a bad thing to have the rest of it impregnated with silver too. That said not a single contradictory detracting statement by nay saying scientist has any solid foundation in fact, science or proof. The most amusing attack on the use of silver is by invoking what has become the weapon of choice against "the machine" (large corporations) and that is environmental impact. The idea of silver; and inert, base element, which is ubiquitous in the environment, that does not dissolve or bond to any other substance without extreme heat or electrolysis.
