Know What is Close to You When You Plan
Whether you plan to survive in place, bug out, or just live day to day, knowing where you are in relation to the nuclear reactors, power plants, and other nuclear facilities in the area. If you are within 150 miles you should consider the reactors in proximity to your bug out route. Additionally, you should aquaint yourself with the power companies' public notification system, evacuation plan, and all of the information that they make available to you under the law.
Monitoring websites that monitor and report on irregularities at the locations near you is also very useful.
