The Fresnel Lens comes in many forms and we have tested them all. If you choose correctly you will have a light weight, highly effective means of starting a fire, so long as you have sunlight.
The Fresnel Lens
(Highly Efficient Light Collector or Diffuser)
The Fresnel Lens collects light very well either spreading the beam or focusing it very efficiently.
The Fresnel Lens is so efficient that it delivers 5 to 10 times the intensity of and equal sized ground glass lens. It is a powerful collector. The lens to the right began as one of four lenses in a lighthouse. A candle would be lit behind it and the lens would collect the light into a high intensity beam that would be seen for miles. See the cut away of the lens's concentric rings that make it collect light so efficiently.
