Okay! so, you are in shape to walk /jog
a mile but is your Pet? It is not likely that you will be taking a lot of
breaks or carrying your dog through the park.
Let’s lower the cost of the Vet Bills:
- Don't let your dog smell where another dog has
been. Most parasites/worms are picked up from feces of other dogs, mud
puddles, lakes, ponds and streams DON'T let your dog drink from them.
- Ticks cause Lyme disease in dogs just like humans
please spay your pet with repellent and use a high quality collar. Don’t
skimp on you pooch, get the best.
- Watch for hot pavements, feel them with your own
hand if hot to touch to hot for your Dogs Paws.
- Stay on the trail and watch for broken glass,
cans, rocks, causes deep cuts in the pads of a dogs paw
This is just a small list to consider on
that doggy play date! Bring your own dish and water and don’t forget your poopy
bags! For more info go to www.AKC.com
Depending on the region where you
located there are a seemingly endless list of threats to your pet in even just
your back yard.
A friend and regular visitor of this
site related his encounter recently of a baby rattler in a wood pile in his
back yard in a very developed area of Southern New Jersey. If your dog is
running free and routing around in the underbrush he may find a new playmate.
Unfortunately, the playmate maybe a Copperhead, Timber Rattler or other
venomous snake and your dog may die.
