PracticeSurvival.com's founder Will and many of his associates agree that survival is every day. As one of our valued US Military based contributors reaffirmed recently you are much more likely to die on the side of a highway broken down with your car than by civil unrest or a terrorist act. Moreover you are more likely to die from hypothermia or falling off a steep incline on a hike, or hit by lightning than a solar storm, hijacking or terrorist act combined. Guns and food stocks will not save you from the real survival challenges of life. While we are not saying ignore those risks we are simply saying if you prepare for the things that challenge us every day you will be better prepared with real practiced skills if a real disaster occurs.
Will decided to offer a unique perspective on the issues that we face in everyday life and how we should apply them to our belief in self reliance, survivalism and preparedness. The idea is not to claim that one person's perspective is the only way to do something or the only correct answer, rather it is begin a conversation and thought process to move you forward.
There are often many "correct ways" to do something; it depends upon your experience, skill set and proclivities as to which one is right for you. Will has over 40 years of time enjoying outdoor and wilderness activities and 30+ years performing investigations, surveillances, protection, and property, personnel, and data recovery operations around the world in the private sector. Since Will recognizes that his is a perspective from a pure private sector perspective; corporate and private small company based. In order to balance the content on the site, he has tapped others for insights and perspectives from other sectors. Each week he has interviews contacts and contributors that he trusts; friends who are active duty U.S. Military, law enforcement, local, state and federal governmental personnel ranging from mayors to senators, police officers to chiefs and water treatment MUA directors to Neurologists and hospital administrators and even OEMs and fire marshals, to distill valuable lessons from their structured, time tested methodologies of their systems and processes. It is our hope that PracticeSurvival.com and its sister websites can provide a balanced perspective regarding survival, not simply a rant, not gun or wilderness centric one, but a broad look from multiple perspectives to open possibilities.
